A Miniature Taiwan

As soon as I step into the miniature world of Window on the World, my camera just can't resist clicking away. The first thing that catches my eye is the colorful shipping containers, and upon closer inspection, you can even spot the labeled with the famous "Evergreen" logo!
(*Evergreen Marine Corp. is a famous container shipping company in Taiwan.)
The prominently displayed "中國造船廠" (China Shipbuilding Corporation), renamed "台灣國際造船廠" (Taiwan International Shipbuilding Corporation) in 2007, was once among the world's top three largest shipyards! Even though the models in Small World are built to a scale of 1:25, the striking red and white gantry cranes still command attention, giving a glimpse into the grandeur of the shipyard's real-life scale!
As one of Taiwan's top ten constructions, the highway naturally gets downsized in Window onWorld too! Besides the usual cars and small vans, you'll occasionally spot tour buses, trucks, and taxis. The best part? These tiny vehicles actually move! If I were young enough, I'd definitely be glued to this spot!
The first stop for many visitors to Taiwan is Taoyuan International Airport! In the scaled-down version at Window on the World, you'll finally see the full view of the airport buildings, complete with models of airplanes representing various airlines from around the world.Let's see if there's an airplane from your country!
The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is probably a childhood memory for many people in Taipei, and Window on World has fully captured these memories in its models!
The Taipei First Girls High School Marching Band is the official band of Taipei First Girls High School, an all-female senior high school located in Taipei, Taiwan.Established 60 years ago, the band reunited with alumni in 2024 for a cross-generational performance.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, a renowned attraction in Taipei, was built in memory of Chiang Kai-shek , the inaugural president of the Republic of China.
Natural History Branch of National Taiwan Museum, located near the MRT National Taiwan University Hospital Station. Currently serving as the ancient biology museum of  National Taiwan Museum, it not only preserves the old vaults of the Bank of Taiwan, but also showcases huge and eye-catching dinosaur fossils!
Jingfu Gate, actually the East Gate of Taipei City, stands at the intersection of several major roads, including Ren'ai Road, Xinyi Road, Zhongshan South Road, and Ketagalan Boulevard.
While taking photos for Jingfu Gate, I overheard a child exclaim loudly, "So many people!"
I thought the kid were referring to the visitors in the theme park on weekends. It wasn't until I stood in front of the model of the Presidential Office Building that I realized the child's exclamation was actually about the many tiny figurines within the model!
Back in the day, National Taiwan University Hospital was hailed as the largest and most modern hospital in Southeast Asia. It even had dedicated lanes for vehicles, perfectly meeting the emergency needs of a hospital. It's said that during the Japanese colonial period, since Taiwan didn't have asphalt roads, the hospital installed foot washing stations at the entrance and required people to wash their feet and wear wooden clogs before entering!
The Lin Family Mansion and Garden which took 40 years to build, covers an area comparable to the Presidential Office Building. It was estimated to have cost 500,000 taels to complete. Calculated at the rate of 26.63 US dollars per tael, this famous Qing Dynasty garden cost over 12 million US dollars!

A Miniature World

The Arc de Triomphe from France stands out remarkably, I do eager to see the real one.
The Roman Pantheon, also known as the Pantheon.
The park features many famous landmarks from around the world. Some of them are so grand and impressive that I can't even name them, but their magnificence is unmistakable!
The Paris Opera House, along with Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, is considered a symbol of Paris. The park thoughtfully provides a designated photo area in front of the model, making it easy for children to take pictures with it. Seeing the scale of the children next to the model immediately brings to mind why our parents loved taking photos of us when we were little—it’s simply adorable!

Of course, traditional Chinese architecture is also well represented.

After spending a full day there, I found that, aside from a few slightly more thrilling attractions like the indoor roller coaster, most of the rides at Small World are quite gentle, making them perfect for young children. At scheduled times, there's also a clown magic show where both kids and adults are invited on stage to interact and perform magic together.
